The Japan Institute of International Affair (JIIA) held a lecture entitled "Nature of the Four Northern Islands" on February 14, 2025.

The lecture was aimed at a wide audience and covered the rich ecosystems of the area stretching from the Shiretoko Peninsula to the Four Northern Islands and Urup Island.
