"International Conference on the Second Sino-Japanese War and the Shaping of the Modern East Asian World" was held in Taiwan

The Japan Institute of International Affairs and the Institute of Modern History, Academia Sinica cohosted the "International Conference on the Second Sino-Japanese War and the Shaping of the Modern East Asian World" held at Academia Sinica in Taiwan from March 10 to 12, 2025. A total of over 50 researchers from Japan, Taiwan, China, Malaysia, and the UK participated as speakers, and discussed the history of the Second Sino-Japanese War from multiple perspectives. From JIIA, Director Shigeru Toyama, Japanese Secretariat of Japan-China Joint History Study and two other researchers attended the conference.

The Institute of Modern History, Academia Sinica, will commemorate its 70th anniversary this year.
