The Japan Institute of International Affairs (JIIA) hosted a webinar on October 20, featuring Dr. Antoine Bondaz, Research Fellow at the Foundation for Strategic Research (FRS) in France. The event was titled "Europe-China Relations under the II Trump Administration."

Dr. Bondaz, who also serves as an advisor to the Cabinet of the President of the European Commission, highlighted the growing economic and trade imbalance between Europe and China. He explained that China holds significant advantages in sectors such as EV batteries and manufacturing, and discussed the strategic importance of supply chains, the potential for trilateral cooperation with Japan and India, and the geopolitical implications of China's expanding influence in the Indo-Pacific region.
