On November 5, The Japan Institute of International Affairs (JIIA) and the Delhi Policy Group (DPG) co-hosted the 8th Japan-India Indo-Pacific Forum (11th Japan-India Track 1.5 Dialogue) at the Vision Center Toranomon in Tokyo. The Forum was supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan and the Ministry of External Affairs of India.
This year's Forum comprised two closed-door sessions held on the previous day, entitled "Strategic Transitions and Global Order" and "Japan-India Cooperation: 10 Years of the SSGP." These sessions explored evolving regional and global geopolitical dynamics and reviewed a decade of progress under the Japan-India Special Strategic and Global Partnership (SSGP).
The Open Session, entitled "Regional and Multilateral Coordination," was co-moderated by Amb. SASAE Kenichiro (President, JIIA) and Amb. Hemant Krishan SINGH (Director General, DPG). Discussions addressed the enhancement of the Quad's role, engagement with Africa and the Global South, and Japan-India-Plus cooperation, with a particular focus on Southeast Asia including Indonesia, Vietnam, and the Philippines.
Keynote addresses were delivered by H.E. Dr. Subrahmanyam JAISHANKAR, Minister of External Affairs of India (via video message), and H.E. Ms. Ayano KUNIMITSU, State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan.

A joint statement was signed at the end of the session, reaffirming both institutions' commitment to advancing strategic dialogue and cooperation between Japan and India.
