On October 20, The Japan Institute of International Affairs (JIIA) is pleased to welcome Dr. Antoine Bondaz, Research Fellow at the Foundation for Strategic Research (FRS). He also serves as an Advisor to the President's Cabinet at the European Commission. The event will be moderated by Professor Ken Endo from the University of Tokyo, who is also an Adjunct Fellow at JIIA.
Dr. Bondaz is the Director of the Indo-Pacific Observatory and oversees several research programs at FRS, including the FRS-KF Korea Program and the Taiwan Program. His research focuses on the foreign and security policies of China, Taiwan, and the two Koreas, with particular emphasis on strategic issues within the Indo-Pacific region and French strategy there.
Dr. Bondaz, currently serving as an Advisor at the European Commission and leveraging his expertise, will speak about Europe's China policy during a potential second term of the Trump administration. Additionally, Professor Eto, a specialist in Chinese politics, will join us as a commentator to discuss Europe's policy from the Chinese perspective.
