The Japan Institute of International Affairs (JIIA) held the 12th JIIA-INSS Conference on April 24, 2025, in Tokyo. This Conference has been held since 2010 with the Institute for National Security Strategy (INSS), the Republic of Korea (ROK).

Experts from both Japan and the ROK, headed by Mr Tomoyuki Yoshida, Executive Director of JIIA and Dr. Sukhee Han, President of INSS, participated in this discussion and exchanged views on (1) regional security environment, (2) trends in North Korea's domestic and foreign policies and their implications for North Korea policy, under the overall theme of "regional security in Northeast Asia under Trump 2.0 and the response of Japan and the ROK".
