On May 9, 2025, the Japan Institute of International Affairs (JIIA) held its regular dialogue with the Institute of International Relations (IIR) of NCCU in Tokyo.

Researchers and experts from both Japan and Taiwan participated in a lively exchange of views regarding the impact of "Trump 2.0" in East Asia, as well as opportunities for Japan-Taiwan cooperation, particularly in the semiconductor sector. The delegations were led by Mr. Tomoyuki Yoshida, Chief Executive Director of JIIA, and Dr. Hsin-Hsien Wang, Director of IIR.
