On July 24, 2025, the Japan Institute of International Affairs (JIIA), in co-sponsorship with the Indian Council of World Affairs (ICWA) and the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam (DAV), convened the "Japan-India-Vietnam Trilateral 1.5 Security Dialogue (JIV1.5 Security Dialogue)."

During the dialogue, participants engaged in active and substantive discussions on the current state and challenges of the security environment in the Indo-Pacific region, as well as modalities of bilateral and trilateral cooperation among Japan, India, and Vietnam.
