The Japan Institute of International Affairs (JIIA) held the 40th JIIA-IFANS Conference on October 23, 2025, in Seoul, ROK. This Conference has been held since 1986 with the Institute of Foreign Affairs and National Security (IFANS), Korea National Diplomatic Academy (KNDA), the Republic of Korea (ROK).

Experts from both Japan and the ROK, headed by Mr Tomoyuki Yoshida, Chief Executive Director of JIIA and Mr. Lee Moon Hee, Senior Executive Director of IFANS, KNDA, participated in this discussion and exchanged views on (1) Security environment in Northeast Asia, (2) Japan-ROK relations.
