President Sasae said that a convergence of views emerged during the two days of discussion that the “post-Cold War” era has come to an end, but noted that diverse opinions had been expressed how to define the current world, US-China relations, and US-Russia relations. He also mentioned the high expectations for Japan, which had made a major shift in its security policy and assumed this year’s G7 presidency.
