About Our Institute
The Japan Institute of International Affairs (JIIA) was established at the suggestion of former Prime Minister Shigeru Yoshida. The Institute conducts research on international affairs, studies our country's foreign policy scientifically, and provides constructive ideas for its policy planning. It disseminates knowledge and information on international affairs, encourages research on international affairs at universities and research organizations nationwide, contributes to the formation of international public opinion favorable to Japan, and promotes peace and prosperity worldwide. JIIA's purpose is to contribute to the sound management of Japan's foreign policy and to promote peace and prosperity worldwide.
