CGO is a new hub that connects Japan and the world by strategically disseminating intellectual outputs,
with a view to enhancing Japan's presence in the global community.
1. Purpose of Establishment
There has never been a greater need for Japan to engage in active global outreach. Major conflicts have erupted across various regions, while the new policy directions of the US administration, the rise of the Global South, and rapid technological innovation are injecting fresh dynamism and challenges into global order. We are in the midst of significant shifts in international and regional landscapes. JIIA recognizes the urgent need for establishing closer collaboration within the global intellectual community by capitalizing on Japan’s accumulated experience and soft power, and it is in this context that JIIA has decided to establish the Center for Global Outreach (CGO).
