Events Hosted by JIIA

■November 5: The Japan Institute of International Affairs (JIIA) and the Indian think tank Delhi Policy Group (DPG) co-hosted the 8th Japan-India Indo-Pacific Forum (11th Japan-India Track 1.5 Dialogue) at the Vision Center Toranomon, Tokyo.
In the public session titled “Regional and Multilateral Coordination”, Kenichiro SASAE, President of JIIA, and H.K. SIN, Director of DPG and former Ambassador of India to Japan, served as co-moderators. Discussions focused on strengthening the Quad, engaging with Africa and the Global South, and promoting “Japan-India+ Cooperation” with a particular focus on Southeast Asia, including Indonesia, Vietnam, and the Philippines.

Consultations with Think Tanks

■November 13: JIIA held a joint meeting with the Sejong Institute in Tokyo. This dialogue has been ongoing since 2019.
Experts and specialists from both Japan and Korea, including Tomoyuki YOSHIDA,Chief Executive Director of JIIA, and Yongjun LEE, Chairman of the Sejong Institute, participated. The discussion covered “Current Status and Challenges of Japan-US-Korea Cooperation” and “Japan-Korea Relations: Political Situation and Foreign Policy Trends.”

Others

■November 4–6: Experts from various countries were invited by the Provisional Technical Secretariat of the CTBTO to discuss the documents used for on-site inspections (OSI). The meeting aimed to review the current status of these documents, identify improvements to enhance clarity and efficiency over the long term, and outline prospects for drafting operational guidelines for on-site inspections.
