Closing

In his closing remarks, President Kenichiro Sasae summarized the discussions held over the past two day of the Seventh Tokyo Global Dialogue. He noted that although the world is living through an age of uncertainty, it is also a time of opportunity; yet such opportunity must be grounded in a sober recognition of present realities. While power-based attempts to alter the status quo and deepening divisions are evident, the international order itself is not collapsing: the continued importance of legitimacy and rules remains intact. He said that consistent messages from the discussions were  the importance of strengthening resilience and responsible global governance, and necessity for immediate action through practical cooperation among like-minded countries and partners to develop both common ideas and practical solutions. 

Concluding his remarks, President Sasae expressed his appreciation that the Dialogue had provided valuable insights for future international cooperation and policy development. He thanked all speakers and participants for their thoughtful contributions and officially brought the Seventh Tokyo Global Dialogue to a close.
