The Japan Institute of International Affairs (JIIA) held the 13th JIIA-KINU Conference on July 29, 2026, in Tokyo. This Conference has been held since 2014 with the Korea Institute for National Unification (KINU), a think tank under the Ministry of Unification of ROK.
Experts from both Japan and the ROK, headed by Amb. Tomoyuki Yoshida, Chef Executive Director of JIIA and Dr. Man-hak Kwon, President of KINU, participated in this discussion and exchanged views on (1) Analysis and Assessment of North Korea's Domestic and Foreign Policies Following the 9th Congress of the WPK, (2) "Situation Management Strategies" of Japan and ROK: Challenges and Countermeasures.
