About CSCAP's Activities
CSCAP's SGs are the primary mechanism for its activities. Each SG operates for a tenure of two years and is required to produce outputs with significant policy implications, going beyond mere dialogue. Memorandums produced as outcomes are submitted to the ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF) and relevant government institutions. In addition, many CSCAP SGs are often convened in conjunction with various ARF meetings to enhance coordination with the Forum.
Among CDCAP's notable research achievements, the "Working Definition and Statement of Principles of Preventive Diplomacy (PD)" formulated by the CSCAP Working Group on Confidence and Security Building Measures (CSBMs), stands out. This document served as the basis for the "Paper on Concept and Principles of Preventive Diplomacy" adopted by the ARF in 2001 and is frequently cited as an example of how CSCAP's intellectual contributions have supported Track I activities.
