Short-Term Fellowship Program for Young Overseas Researchers
As part of a subsidized support project for territory, sovereignty and history studies, the Japan Institute of International Affairs (JIIA) annually invites young Southeast Asian researchers specializing in international relations to Japan. The program provides opportunities to exchange views with university scholars, think tanks, and government officials, as well as to visit sites related to Japan's territorial issues. Through these activities, participants deepen their understanding of Japan's international challenges and apply this knowledge to their research.
Upon completing the program, participants are expected to submit a research paper reflecting their insights and experiences in Japan. We hope that these young researchers will foster mutual exchange and contribute to building research networks between Japan and other Asian countries in the future.
