Strategic Outlook (formerly Strategic Annual Report)
In 2019, JIIA marked its 60th anniversary by releasing its first Strategic Annual Report and hosting the inaugural Tokyo Global Dialogue—a major international symposium held under the same theme as the report, featuring numerous prominent figures and experts from both Japan and abroad.
Looking beyond 2025, the international landscape has entered an era of growing turmoil, underscoring the increasing importance of offering informed perspectives on global politics as a policy think tank. In response to these changes, the institute has renamed the Strategic Annual Report to Strategic Outlook. Going forward, we will place greater emphasis on outlining future prospects, encourage individual researchers to publish under their own names whenever possible, and continue to provide recommendations on the actions and roles expected of Japan.
